Although the insoles do not appear to be cushioned enough, in practice they seem to make it right by the support given to the entire foot area, and no cushioning issues have been an issue since trying them. My feet feel fully supported (and I am a big guy, over 300 pounds), and I am pretty sure that in time, my muscles will become used to the different support, and will benefit from the mechanics of this insole.
