Good high arch support (as needed). Appear sturdier than the average insert.These insert replacements are easy to use. You simply pull the original one out and trace its outline onto this insert and trim accordingly. Then this insert will slip in place and replace the original. They offer good cushioning for the heel and at the same time there is good support to relieve the strain from plantar fasciitis which I have and is why I bought these. They are not a 'cure' but they do relieve some of the strain and allowing the fasciitis to heal.These are pretty thick insoles that approach orthotics. I had to put them in my hiking shoes because they are the only shoes I have sized for orthotics. They would not fit in my daily tennis shoes without making them too tight.These are very firm and mostly a unified thickness. I wear a women's 9 medium width and I had to trim 1/4" off the end of the size 40/41 and a bit off the side to make them fit. The arch support seems to be slightly too far back when you first put them on, but as the insole warms up it softens and feels ok.Due to how firm these are, I don't know if I would want to use them in shoes that I stand around in a lot. I wore my hiking shoes all day walking around the house and the neighborhood and they were good for that.They had no offensive odor out of the package.The XL insole is almost a solid 12 actual inches before cutting them, the picture shows them cut at a size 11. These insoles don't squeak and offer really good support for plantar fasciitis. The Dynwalker insoles are quite a bit firmer than some of the other insoles I have tried, so if you are looking for a really cushy insole, these are not the ones. However, if you are looking for arch support in a relatively firm shoe or using them for hiking/walking/golf where you don't want a lot of motion in the insole, these work really well. The sizing fit as expected and they were easy to trim to match the shoe. Recommended for active use and seem in line with other insoles at this price point.Admittedly my arch is ridiculously high so I wasn't surprised when their arch didn't touch my instep. But they did feel good in my shoes. The arch felt firm to the touch and I imagine if yours wa more normal it might actually help ease your pain.I couldn't really rate it's pain relief as Idon't have any pain in my arch. I think they could help you if you are having pain though, to judge by the way they feel to the touch. They made fine new insoles for my shoes however.My boyfriend is dealing with plantar fasciitis. He has a high arch, wears a size 10 wide shoe. He is using these regularly and states they are very comfortable for him. I ordered size XL (men 10 - 12) and he said that he did not need to make any adaptations to them. They fit in the shoe perfectly and don’t slip or slide in the shoe. Despite his high arch, he can feel the arch support.I got these for a pair of hiking boots I use. Mine are size XL Men’s 10-12 and measure 12 inches long. The toes can easily be trimmed to fit.I've never had an insole quite like this one. The back half of it, under the heel and arch, is FIRM - meaning it doesn't really bend. It's padded for cushion, but it's not flexible. The front part under your ball and toes is plenty flexible like a normal insole. And the heel is solidly elevated by about a quarter inch. So factor this in when considering what shoes you'll be wearing these in, as you have to have enough lace expansion to fit these in there with your foot! Sneakers and hikers shouldn't be an issue, but dress shoes or slip-ons may cause fitment issues.The actual cushioning seems to be rubber and foam, but it's pretty stiff/stout, and not as comfy as the gel-type insoles. But they definitely do have some improvement over my hikers. I'm looking forward to my next outing with these as they definitely provide better support for my high arches and feel good inside the shoes.These insoles are thinner than some others that Amazon sells. They have good arch support, but not much cushioning. Good for shoes where you need more support, but a thicker insole would not fit in your shoe or would mess up your shoes' fit.
