I have bad feet. My orthopedist suggested I try out a pair of orthotic insole inserts to help with the pain. (It's not plantar fasciitis, but rather over-pronation. Frankly, I don't care what one calls it as long as there's relief available somewhere.)The doctor gave the name of the store closest to me that carries the insole he recommended & I was so desperate for relief that I went straight to the store rather than even attempt to order online or from Amazon. The difference, once I was fitted with the pair that best suited my feet, was like flipping a light switch. The pain relief was instantaneous. I've been a loyal convert to that brand ever since.But, they can be a little spendy, especially with replacement recommended every 6 months. (Think approximately the cost of a new pair of shoes.) Don't get me wrong. They're worth every penny, but if there was a viable alternative at a lesser cost, I was game to try.The photos accompanying this rating show the 2 insoles side by side. I pulled the GREEN Superfeet insole right from my shoe so you can compare for yourself.First off, for me, this new insole required no trimming whatsoever to fit my size 9½ sneaker. (I'd had to trim the GREEN one prior to use.)The new insole is floppier. See that orange portion. It's completely floppy loose. While it provides cushioning, it has no stiffness to add stability to the whole insole like the grey portion does on the GREEN. I've been able to completely fold the orange foot portion of the new insole back on itself. While you don't get an orthotic insole for it's toe supporting ability. This is a difference.You'll see that the bottom white portions of the new insole are textured dots. These are also a squishy cushioned foam of sorts. The GREEN has rigid plastic. I guess which you want depends on what you're getting the insole for? I think for me, I prefer the rigid stability to provide a more complete footbed for my foot. If you want cushioning, then perhaps you'd like the newer insert more.As for as the arch portion, again the GREEN has a more rigid arch, but the new insert has a higher arch. It's a bit hard to tell from my pictures but there's a decidedly higher arch portion in the new.Overall, I didn't notice either insert taking up more room than the other inside my footwear. They DO take up more room so don't expect any orthotic to fit inside an already snug fitting pair of shoes.The price point of this new insert does make a trial purchase worthwhile for those searching for alternative that are more economical.My foot just needs a giant rock to hold up my arch. I don't think they make arch supports like for what I need. I need to feel like I'm turning my feet outwards because the arch support is so high. This one may work for the average arch needs. I need a little bit more, but for what it's worth, it at least gives me a little support vs my shoes that have zero. It's at least a step in the right direction, no pun intended. I can recommend for the average need!Initially, these orthotics provided great support. The inserts are very well made, easy to customize, and feel comfortable and cushiony. I wore them for a few days and they felt great until my arch started hurting. I should also add that I have not been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. I ordered these because I was having foot pain. My shoes were flat and didn’t offer any arch support so I thought these inserts would help.I have a high arch and I suspect the arch in these orthotics were not compatible with my high instep. It felt like the orthotic was rubbing against my arch when I walked and it was causing discomfort. Once I stop wearing them, the pain subsided. I think these are a well made quality product but it’s not the right insert for my foot.Standing on these without a shoe I could instantly feel the relief. Unfortunately, all of my shoes do not have a removable insert and when I placed this insert into my shoe, it made the shoe too small to wear. If I am able to find a pair of loose fitting shoes that's where these will go. The support on the arch was perfect. I don't know if I have plantar fasciitis, all I know is that the arch of my feet hurt after standing for long periods of time with flats or barefoot. For now I have these in my house shoes and even the few hours before bed with these inserts I can already feel foot pain relief.The orthotic inserts were easy to trim to size and offer good arch support. I have noticeably less leg and feet fatigue after standing/walking long hours using the inserts. However, it came with a weird and unappealing chemical smell and had to be aired out for a few days.I like that these look like they are made well as some are not. Hubby had a little bit of trouble getting one into his work boots. He walked around some and said they seem fine. The test will be how long they last and if they are comfortable long term.Tried these insoles for the the 1st time this week and my feet stopped hurting instantly. I'll be buying more.
